On November 21st 2015 Stephanie Hill Photography had the pleasure of once again joining with the non-profit Illumination Foundation at their annual Thanksgiving meal service to provide portraits for the very special families in their program. I was extremely excited and humbled to offer such an invaluable gift to deserving families in need. I was also a bit nervous as the location was limiting and the lighting unflattering, many families had never had a portrait taken before and the pressure was on. I arrived in the morning to set up with the help of the wonderful IF staff and my sometime assistant and forever friend Joti. I had backdrop issues with the new custom backdrop I had made for the event right from the beginning, with some help we McGyvered it to my backdrop stand and prepared to set the lights up. I was placed directly under an overhead fluorescent but not to worry I would over power that light right out of illumination J. The families began to arrive for the 1st of 2 meal services that day and they immediately began trickling over to my line, now Stephanie Hill Photography is up to bat! The families, some eager and smiling to have their picture taken and some hesitant and uncomfortable all were grateful and enjoyed the table of Santa hat props and candy canes. I was thanked by a board member whom personally came up and shook my hand for the gift of portraits to their families and I was humbled by the experience of all of my blessings and what I am now able to give back. The day was not without a few more mishaps as my backdrop continued to fall the entire day through both meal service events but nothing my team and I could not handle. It was a special day and I am grateful I was able to represent Stephanie Hill Photography in such a meaningful way. 41 families had portraits taken that day, over the next several weeks I would process them, have custom frames made, load the frames and deliver the portraits and thank God to have been called to give back in such a special, unique way.
